As Mayor of Franklin County, I would like to extend a warm welcome to our website and our community. I hope that our newly designed website offers easy navigation and useful information.

One of our priorities, in Franklin County, is to provide our youth with the absolute best educational opportunities to insure the most successful future for them possible. Franklin County High School along with our two new Middle Schools are state of the art facilities and promote the desire for higher education. We also partner with nearby higher learning institutions to make it possible for our youth to pursue advanced education. The Tennessee College of Applied Technology, the University of the South, Motlow State Community College, and the University of Tennessee Space Institute are our neighbors and partners in education.

It is also important to recognize our diversified manufacturing base that is vibrant with employment opportunities in the automotive industry and research and testing facilities, among other trades. In addition, our progressive business community and thriving entrepreneurial development at our Franklin County Business Development Center make Franklin County a competitive and progressive county in Tennessee.

Franklin County has a rich history that can be recognized at various historic locations throughout the county including Falls Mill, the Cowan Road Museum and Tunnel, the old Jail Museum, and the stunning campus of The University of the South at Sewanee; And that is just to name a few!!

Another feature of Franklin County is the exceptional Tims Ford Reservoir which is a gathering place for numerous year round outdoor activities such as fishing tournaments, family hiking excursions, and backwoods camping trips. There is also Tims Ford State Park which includes a Jack Nicklaus golf course!
